We are very cramped for space here in the city. Our home is very tiny and we have this single available window sill. Our veggie starts fight for a spot in the sun, but it's fun to see them propped in a v on our bookshelf. It hasn't stopped them from taking off! I hope the sun stays and they survive the transplant to the raised beds.

You're cramping my style!
These are our giant bags of hay and alfalfa from the seed and feed store. We are limited on trunk space and we don't have a pick up, so this is the obvious solution! The girls don't complain because its only about a 15 minute drive back to the house. I love that you can see them passing books to each other! They're great sports and they understand the importance of both of the bags that sit between them.

Espalier (Es-pal-ee-ay)
This is our orchard!
On the left you will see our FIVE varieties of pears, and on the right, SIX varieties of apples! And you thought it was just the two trees!
I have learned to never doubt Andy's craftiness!

Today
Tilly is fascinated with the feeling of a warm egg on her cheek. Every single egg she collects is pressed tightly to her delicate skin. It a sweet sight.
Challenge accepted!
Welcome to our photo journal and to our family's urban farming experience.
Andy challenged me to document our city farming experiences in a picture a day for one whole year. In return, I challenged him to sketch the pictures I take.
This is the beginning of another wonderful journey together!
Enjoy!
